White wine from France, A.O.C. Côtes du Rhône
Very marked by the Viognier and its floral side, it is a remarkable wine of freshness and depth for the vintage. It will be splendid with Mediterranean preparations or rock fish.
The vintage
After an early bud break in early April, flowering was gradual and took place in good conditions across all the vineyards. Then a scorching summer sets in at the end of June, to which the vines bravely resist: they have suffered little from water stress, in particular thanks to chamomile herbal teas sprayed on the vegetation to cope with the heat. Finally, the harvest took place as usual, without any particular precocity. The wines are full of promise for a vintage in 9 born, once again, under a lucky star.
Situation
Located on the cool and light grounds of the towns of Cairanne and Jonquières. Vineyard on alluvium between the rivers of Aigues and Ouvèze in Vaucluse.
Land
Recent alluvium, of calcareous origin, with variations due to the outlines of the rivers, stony clay-limestone.
Elaboration
The grapes are harvested very early in the morning to benefit from the coolness of the night. After pressing, we perform a static cold settling in order to remove the particles in suspension. Alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel vats takes place at low temperature at 16 ° C. The wines are then racked and aged in stainless steel vats until bottling.
