 Terroir

Clay-limestone and clay-loam from Charnay, Davayé and Pierreclos. Situated at the edge of the Saint-Véran appellation, the vines of Mâcon-Villages produce fruity wines with lively and fresh aromas.

These Chardonnays are grown in the Mâconnais, near the Roches de Solutré and Vergisson, classified as Great Natural Sites of France. This terroir is the earliest of the Burgundian terroirs.

Grape variety

Chardonnay 100%

Vinification

The grapes are pressed using pneumatic presses and the musts are clarified at low temperatures. The vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. The malolactic fermentation is sought after and the ageing takes place in stainless steel vats on fine lees until February/March.

Tasting notes

Wine of brilliant yellow colour with green reflections. Complex nose of fresh fruits such as apricot, peach. The mouth is full, well balanced and lively. Elegant, it finishes on mineral and acidulous notes.

Food & Wine pairing

As an aperitif, this wine can also accompany fine fish and shellfish dishes. It can also be recommended with cream fowl sauce and goat's cheese.
