Red wine of France, Appellation Saint-Estèphe, vintage 2015
Château petit bocq Saint Estephe Available in the 2015 vintage is a red wine produced in Marbuzet, in the Bordeaux region, France. Located on a sandy, gravelly, clay and limestone soil, comprising more than 80 plots, the vineyard of "Château Petit Bocq" derives its originality from an unusual grape variety. This red wine exists thanks to the following grape varieties: 65% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc.
Belonging to the Lagneaux family, this red wine is obtained from complex processes: plant protection device, leaf removal and thinning by hand, hand picking with double sorting in the vineyard during the harvest, etc.
For vinification, Château Petit Bocq enjoys a pre-fermentation maceration at 5°C and fermentation in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature. Indeed, from 2004, the winemaker chose to abandon malolactic fermentation in barrels in favour of fermentation in new oak barrels (15 to 20% of the harvest). Combined with modern and ambitious maturing, blending and bottling techniques, this process results in a Château petit bocq Saint Estephe 2015 vintage that is both fine and elegant.
This 2015 vintage, from the Saint-Estèphe appellation, goes well with poultry or vegetable-based dishes and is both tasty and expressive on the palate.
