Red wine from Bordeaux, AOC Fronsac
Château de la Rivière 2015 is a red wine from the Bordeaux region. It holds the controlled designation of origin Fronsac which covers no less than 7 municipalities located west of Libourne. The climate is favorable for the good maturation of the grape and the Château de la Rivière, the largest Fronsadais estate, cultivates its vines on clay-limestone soil. The Merlot is mainly present in the composition of this 2015 vintage.
The other grape varieties that accompany it to a lesser extent are Malbec, Cabernet-franc and Cabernet sauvignon . The harvest is carried out manually and the vinification remains traditional and parcel. The latter was carried out in concrete, stainless steel and thermo-regulated wood tanks. Then, the aging lasted 15 months in barrels, 30% of which were new.
Château de la Rivière 2015 is a red wine that can stay in the cellar for a short time (on average between 6 and 7 years). It presents supple tannins and an opulent substance. It is an intense and noble Fronsac wine which will seduce you with its notes of black fruits, blackberries and spices . With its garnet red color, it was very well received and obtained very good marks.
