Red wine from Bordeaux PDO Haut-Médoc
The plots of Château Patache d´Aux are located in two towns 10km apart. These two zones are established on two very distinct geological formations and confer very different agro-viticultural characteristics.
In the commune of Bégadan , 48 hectares of the vineyard are located on the plateau formed by the "Limestone of Bégadan". Carbonate soils are found on this plateau, the surface thickness of which varies according to the weathering and the depth of the slab, varying between 25 and 60 centimeters in depth.
The second part of the vineyard, located on the ridge of Saint Christoly du Médoc, extends over gentle slopes with an eastern exposure, directly overlooking the Gironde, known as "Terrasses de grave alluviales".
The vines of Château Patache d'Aux evolve on a fractionated clay-limestone soil, allowing the deep roots of the vines to feed themselves with nutrients and water, even at the height of the season. summer. This cuvée is made from rigorous plot selections, vinified in temperature-controlled raw concrete vats. In order to soften the tannins and unleash the full aromatic potential of the wine, it is aged in French oak barrels for 12 months. We see a deep dress on purple shades. A nose with notes of fruit, accompanied by a hard and complex woody note. In the mouth, we find soft and melted tannins, with an aromatic complexity. A long and harmonious finish makes us appreciate this wine.
