Château Lavillote 2016 is a red wine produced under the controlled designation of origin Saint-Estèphe . The history of this Médoc wine is written on limestone and stony soil and a stony subsoil. The exposure of the 40 year old vines is unparalleled and the terroir is absolutely magnificent. The vineyard covers at least 12 hectares and the grapes are harvested only when they reach maturity. The vinification is classic with a long vatting and the aging is done mainly in barrels.
To succeed with this Château Lavillote, it was necessary to compose with 3 grape varieties: Cabernet-sauvignon, Merlot and Petit-verdot . To make the most of its aromas, it is advisable to keep it in the cellar for a few years.
This Château Lavillote 2016 has a pretty ruby red color. The nose is powerful, fine and complex. The fruity aromas emerge and intermingle with the toasted, grilled and spicy notes . The attack on the palate is frank and reveals ripe and silky tannins. The finish has a good hold and combines woody touches with fruit.
