Grand Red Wine from Bourgogne (France) - Bourgogne - 100% Pinot-Noir - 2013
Olivier Leflaive - Pommard 1er Cru "Charmots" is a Grand Red Wine from Burgundy. It is an exceptional red wine from a clay-limestone estate, spanning barely 9.65ha of old vines (average age of vines 35 years). The Pommard 1er Cru "Charmots" whose name designates in Burgundy, former common fields cultivated and turned over to fallow land, or planted with charms.
Located immediately above the Epenots, this terroir consists of small plots installed on terraces. The earth is a little less clay than elsewhere and full of limestone scree, making it possible to offer colorful wines and full of fruit. Terroir de garde.
Vinified using 100% destemmed grapes, this Great Red Burgundy Wine, POMMARD 1er Cru Charmots, is aged 16 months in barrels (including 3 months assembly) and for 30% of the harvest, in new barrels.
This wine, made exclusively from the Pinot-Noir grape, gives it superb aging potential (ideally to drink between 2020 and 2025).
Upon tasting it develops aromas of black cherry, musk, pepper. A full and supple mouth with silky tannins. A fairly tender Pommard!
Ideally enjoy this Great Burgundy Wine at a temperature between 17 and 19 ° C.
It will go very well with red meats in sauce, game birds and fur, most cheeses and dark chocolate desserts.
