Grand Red Wine from Bourgogne (France) - Bourgogne - 100% Pinot-Noir
Olivier Leflaive - Volnay " Clos des Angles " is a Grand Red Wine from Burgundy. It is an exceptional red wine from a clay-limestone and clay-silt estate, spanning barely 3.34ha of old vines (average age of vines 35 years). The Volnay 1er Cru "Clos des Angles" is made from vines located at the corner of two paths.
Located on the upper floor of the appellation, this south-eastern climate is generally quite early at the time of the harvest. The sloping limestone brown soil is shallow in places. The style of wine is fairly robust, a bit like his neighbor Pommard . This cuvée is produced from purchases of grapes in several small plots of this terroir.
Vinified using 30% whole grapes, 70% destemmed grapes, this Great Red Wine from Burgundy, Volnay "Clos de Angles" , is aged 18 months in barrels (including 4 months in mass assembly) and for 35% of the harvest, in new barrels.
This wine, made exclusively from the Pinot-Noir grape, gives it superb aging potential (ideally to drink between 2020 and 2025). It is a wine in the register of finesse and elegance: crunchy nose of fresh fruit, a refined and velvety material.
Ideally enjoy this Great Burgundy Wine at a temperature between 16 and 18 ° C.
It will go very well with meats cooked in red wine
