Red wine from Bordeaux A.O.C. Margaux, Second wine of Château Giscours, Vintage 2018
Sirène de Giscours 2017 is a red wine made from the younger vines of Château Giscours. Also endowed with the Margaux appellation as its "elder", this 2014 vintage has seen its vines grow on a soil made up of Garonne gravel. The estate is continuing its quest for excellence by wishing to offer a second wine that is elegant, supple and with a beautiful aromatic freshness. The vineyard, which covers a hundred hectares, holds 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot and the rest is divided between Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. For this Sièrene de Giscours, 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc create a perfect harmony.
The Bordeaux red wine Sirène de Giscours represents about a third of the production of the Château and the harvested grapes are aged in oak barrels for an average of 16 to 18 months. To the eye, this wine of 2014 has a ruby colour. On the nose, a combination of woody notes and red and black fruits dominate the hints of chocolate. On the palate, the tannins are round and give a rather long finish.
In terms of cuisine, this Sirène de Giscours can be enjoyed with red meat, poultry or game.
