Red wine from Bordeaux A.O.C. Margaux, 3rd Grand Cru Classé, Vintage 2016
Château Marquis d'Alesme 2016 is a red Bordeaux wine that is both structured and gourmet. Produced by the Château which bears the same name, this 2016 vintage has benefited from sustainable agriculture and is composed of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. The 15-hectare vineyard has sunny, gravelly soils.
Château Marquis d'Alesme 2016 was vinified in truncated cone-shaped wooden and stainless steel vats. The maturing lasted about 18 months in vats of which 70% of the wood was new. To the eye the robe is a beautiful generous red. On the nose, notes of red fruit and plum dominate. On the palate, the structure of the Cabernet Sauvignon brings a long and fresh finish. It is at the same time a complex fruity, woody and floral blend that sums up the gustatory sensation of this red wine. In addition, the tight tannins offer good ageing potential, allowing this Château Marquis d'Alesme to evolve positively over the years.
This cuvée can be enjoyed with beef or duck or with a Landes salad.
