Red wine of France, vintage 2016 - Saint-Emilion Premier Grand Cru Classé "A" Appellation
Château Angélus 2016 is a red wine from the Bordeaux region that perpetuates the aromatic and gustatory lineage of the great wines that are the hallmark of Château Angélus' DNA. Coming from the region of Libourne, this Bordeaux wine combines 62% Merlot with 38% Cabernet Franc while respecting the principles of sustainable agriculture. It benefits from the Saint-Emilion appellation of controlled origin and has been recognised as a Premier Grand Cru Classé A.
A true flagship of its appellation, this red wine evokes a family's 30-year-old passion for an entire terroir. The grapes of this 2015 vintage had time to reach optimal maturity between the end of September and mid-October thanks to a favourable climate.
With a pretty dense and purple colour, Château Angelus 2015 has a fresh nose with great aromatic purity. You will find pronounced notes of black fruits highlighting the burlat cherry. This will be followed by the delicacy and subtlety of mint, blackcurrant, and chocolate. Fragrances of fig, red rose and cedar bring a certain olfactory tension and reveal a beautiful minerality. The creamy and long tannins give the impression of a straight and precise entry in the mouth, but the touches of spices bring a beautiful dynamic. All you have to do now is to taste with a lot of class!
