Red wine AOP Saint Chinian Berlou, Domaine Villa Furiosa
Terre de Loups Vignes Centenaires 100 Years Old is a red wine presented in a bottle decorated with gildings recalling how exceptional this wine is. Its protected designation of origin Saint Chinian Berlou refers here to a territory of very steep hillsides with a southern exposure. Situated between 100 and 400 metres above sea level, the vines have necessarily been pruned short and the harvest could only be carried out by hand. Only one bottle per stump is produced on this exceptional terroir. Carignan and Mourvèdre are the grape varieties that are blended before carbonic maturation. Carbonic maturation exploits a natural phenomenon (anaerobiosis) in order to modify the composition of the grapes and to obtain a red wine with a slightly better ageing potential than normal.
Terre de Loups Vignes Centenaires 100 years old is best served at 18° C to take advantage of a dark colour with purple reflections and a typical nose of carignan on the Berlou schist. The aromas of black fruits add to this aromatic complex. The mouth is dense with elegant and silky tannins.
This red wine will go well with grilled red meats, tapas or cheese platters.
