Red wine from France, 5th Cru classified Pauillac Appellation , Vintage 2016
Château Haut-Bages Libéral 2016 is a red wine with the Pauillac appellation of origin. Located near the Gironde, the vineyard covers 28 hectares and cultivates three grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Since 1855, this Bordeaux red wine is a 5th cru classé thanks to the Liberal family. The estate has known several owners over the decades and today offers a high quality wine. The vines thrive on gravelly soils with a limestone subsoil. The grape varieties for this 2016 vintage include Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
Château Haut-Bages Libéral 2016 has a dark garnet colour. On the nose, it opens to aeration with aromas of black and red berries as well as hints of menthol and bramble. On the palate, the attack is unctuous with round and supple tannins. The finish is long and tonic.
On the table, this Pauillac red wine can be enjoyed with vegetables (mushrooms, green vegetables), red or white meat or a hard or soft cheese platter. It is preferable to serve it at a temperature between 14 and 16°C to enjoy it with more pleasure. This 2016 vintage has a good ageing potential (between 3 and 10 years).
