Château Dutruch Grand Poujeaux 2017 is a cru bourgeois from an estate renowned for the quality of its red wines. Founded in 1850 by the Dutruch family, the vineyard now belongs to François Cordonnier since 1967 who gets shoulder by the man nicknamed the father of modern oenology: Emile Peynaud. This territory extends over the croup of the Grand Poujeaux. The latter is made up of Garonne gravel allowing the vines to flourish and to find many qualities. This 2017 vintage calls upon four grape varieties renowned in this region: Cabernet Sauvignon (58%), Merlot (35%), Petit Verdot (5%) and Cabernet Franc (2%).

Château Dutruch Grand Poujeaux 2017 reveals an intense garnet colour. It has a semi-intense aromatic bouquet that only needs to evolve during a stay in the cellar. This wine has good ageing potential and can be kept for an average of 5 to 10 years. On the nose, notes of ripe fruit, vanilla and toasted touches escape. On the palate, the balance is perfect and the tannins quite powerful. It is best served with a red meat dish or a hard cheese.
