French red wine - Bordeaux wine - Fifth Grand Cru Classified of Saint-Estèphe, vintage 2014
Château Cos Labory 2014 is a Bordeaux red wine and grand cru classé from the Cos Labory family estate. Rarely to be underlined, the property belongs since 1922 to the same family which produces every year qualitative vintages on the Saint-Estèphe appellation. With a fairly small surface area (18 hectares) for a classified wine, the vineyard is divided into three groups on a soil composed of gravel with more or less clayey bases. The maturing of this red wine of 2014 lasted 16 months in barrels of which 50% were new.
With a deep, brilliant red colour, this Château Cos Labory gives an impression of classicism that perfectly reflects this vintage. The nose opens on aeration and reveals an aromatic palette of red and black fruits supported by delicate woody touches. The harmony of the bouquet is in total harmony with the flavours on the palate. Thanks to the Merlot, the tannins are rounded and the structure well balanced. The Cabernet Sauvignon gives this wine a more robust side. It is best served at a temperature between 17 and 18°C and has good ageing potential (until around 2030). The dish that it will accompany brilliantly? A duck confit parmentier, for example!
