Red wine from Bordeaux A.O.C. Margaux, 3rd Cru classified in 1855, Vintage 2017
Chateau Kirwan 2017 is a red wine from Bordeaux with Margaux appellation. The property, located on the heights of the Cantenac plateau, bears the name of an Irish emigrant in the 1760's. Although the château has belonged to the Schÿler family since 1925, this red wine did not become a great success until the 1990's. A certain improvement had to be made to find two essential characteristics of the Margaux appellation: finesse and density. With the arrival of Philippe Delfaut in 2007, Château Kirwan is a wine of pleasure quite honourable on the big tables. Coming from 40 hectares of vines, the grapes have reached maturity having benefited from the richness of a gravelly soil.
This Château Kirwan 2017 is blended with 45% Caberbet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 10% Petit Verdot. It has a good ageing potential between 10 and 15 years, which will allow you to enjoy it while appreciating a wider range of aromas. This red wine from the 2017 vintage knows how to bring out the purity of the black fruit aromas while allowing itself to evolve on the scents of tobacco leaves. On the palate, we find the typicality of a good Margaux wine. It has a velvety texture enhanced by a beautiful acidity which prolongs the finish.
