Red wine from Bordeaux PDO Margaux, Vintage 2015
Red wine from Bordeaux A.O.C. Margaux, Second wine of Château Dauzac, Vintage 2016
Labastide Dauzac 2016 is a red wine produced in the Bordeaux region, on the property of Château Dauzac. It is a classified 5th growth which benefits from the Margaux appellation. The vines have grown on a gravelly soil, typical for the region. The blend blends two grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon (47%) and Merlot (53%). The wine was aged in oak barrels (50% of which were new) for 12 months.
To the eye, this Labastide Dauzac 2016 possesses a red colour overflowing with generosity. On the nose, it is a wine with fruity, toasty and slightly woody notes that dominate. The bouquet is enhanced by a hint of finesse and delicacy thanks to notes of peonies. This robust and distinguished wine is perfectly full-bodied on the palate. It reveals fruity notes of cherries and strawberries and a rather long finish. The tannins are round and allow this red wine to have a good ageing potential (about 15 years).
It should be drunk at an ideal temperature of 15°C and decanted into a carafe for 30 minutes. You can accompany it with meat dishes (lamb, beef or veal) or hard cheeses (Gouda, for example).
