French red wine - Bordeaux region - Saint-Julien appellation - 3rd Grand Cru Classé - 2010 vintage
French red wine - Bordeaux region - Saint-Julien appellation - Second wine of Château Lagrange - Vintage 2015
Les Fiefs de Lagrange 2015 is the second wine made at Château Lagrange. It comes from vines with an average age of 30 years that have grown on gravel and clay soils. These two types of soil are respectively favourable to the growth of the Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grape varieties. This 2015 vintage has been just as much worked as the great wine produced at the Château because the winemaker takes particular care in the search for maturity and aromatic concentration. The budburst of the vine was favoured by a dry and warm climate from spring onwards. The flowering took place within the average annuals without any talk of an early vintage. The harvest was carried out from the end of September to the beginning of October by hand.
Les Fiefs de Lagrange 2015 is blended from 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot. It has a beautiful, brilliant colour with purple reflections. On the nose, you will be captivated by a combination of red and black fruits. The attack on the palate is lively, fresh and minty. The spice comes to mingle with the aromas in the background. The well-balanced tannins give it a beautiful elegance, which makes it one of the most successful vintages since 2009.
