Red wine of France, Bordeaux, PDO Saint-Émilion 2017
Bordeaux red wine, 1st grand cru classified "B" - 2016 vintage
Château la Gaffelière 2016 is a red Bordeaux wine that takes root in the heart of the Saint-Emilion terroir from which it takes its appellation. Between tradition and modernity, the winegrower respects his uniquely located territory and offers you his signature in this Premier Grand Cru Classé wine. Refined and elegant, this red wine has nevertheless been the subject of serious doubts during this year 2016. Indeed, with a rainy climate in spring, the fertilization did not take place under the best hospices. As for the summer, it was hotter and drier, favouring the deep rooting of the vines. It was in September that the maturation and refining of the tannins took place.
Château la Gaffelière 2016 is 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc. It presents a dark robe of a brilliant success. On the nose, blackberry dominates and expresses a beautiful aromatic freshness. On the palate, you will be definitively conquered by the notes of plum and berry that give a long finish and refined tannins.
If we had to sum up this Château la Gaffelière, it would be crowned with superlatives! Elegant, racy, fresh, delicate and of absolute purity, this 2016 vintage promises you a good tasting.
